Special Report: The Definitive Guide to Unified Communications in the Cloud Cloud-Ready UC Solutions M itel offers a UC-in-the-cloud solution called MiCloud that provides the collaboration tools and capabilities organizations need, as well as the freedom to deliver these technologies to users through a variety of deployment models — public, private or hybrid cloud. MiCloud is a single, cloud-ready software stream that enables organizations to evolve their communication solutions over time. This is critical because not all businesses will move to the cloud at the same pace over the coming years. Some are ready to go all-out today, while others are taking tentative steps. This evolutionary approach creates a need for hybrid solutions, where parts of the UC platform are implemented on-premises while others are deployed in the cloud. For instance, a company might deploy cloud services for a new office, but continue to use a premises-based solution for existing facilities. These solutions need to interoperate to deliver seamless communication across the entire organization. In another scenario, a business might retain a premises-based IP-PBX that it hasn't fully depreciated and add new UC services such as collaboration or mobility in the cloud. To get the best results, the IP-PBX will need to work with the cloud-based UC components. Mitel's solution can integrate with third-party business applications to deliver the kinds of choices organizations need when creating a communications environment that supports the needs of users for years to come.
